According to the reports, the police interviewed the suspect on two occasions back in 2019 after he allegedly threatened to “kill everyone.”

The first questioning was in April 2019 when the then-teenager allegedly threatened to take his own life. In September of the same year, the police once again arrived at Crimo’s family home after he threatened to kill everyone in his family.

Though the authorities seized a dagger, a sword, and 16 knives from the disturbed young man, he was not arrested at the time.

Just two years later, after turning 21, Crimo was allowed to legally buy two assault rifles and three other types of firearms.

“[In April 2019] they responded to the residence, spoke to him, his parents and the matter was being handled with the mental health profession. There was no law enforcement action to be taken,” Lake County Sheriff’s Office revealed in a Tuesday press conference.

“In September 2019, a family remember reported that he said he was going to ‘kill everyone’ and that he had a collection of knives. They responded and took 16 knives and a dagger from his home.
