A 77-year-old citizen has died after trying to tackle robbers that broke into her wealthy residence in Atlanta.
According to reports from local media outlets, cops in Atlanta arrested 23-year-old Antonio Brown who is suspected of stabbing Ellen Bowles to death at her residence in the famous and affluent Buckhead residential district.
The woman was believed to have walked in on the thieves while they were trying to make a getaway with her luxurious Lexus vehicle. But little did anyone know that they would end up killing her by knifing her to death.
Cops claim the Lexus SUV lay in the garage and when the authorities responded to the scene of the crime after a few complaints made by members of the neighborhood, they were shocked beyond belief at what lay in front of them.
The grandmother was dead in her garage and she was discovered by her own son who was mortified to see the gruesome sight. He had come home from abroad to visit the family for the holidays but little did anyone know about this.
But residents in the area claim that this is not the first time that we’ve seen such an endeavor take place. So many residents from Buckhead explained how they have witnessed a rapid surge in crime rates in the past two years. This is why they are pushing the authorities to intervene with stricter measures before it’s too late.
The victim named Ellen Bowles lived inside a gated community in the Buckhead residential district. This has been in consideration of seceding from Atlanta to form its own local government body due to the rampant increase in crime rates.
Today, her loved ones mourn the loss of a loving woman with a beautiful heart. The family has started a GoFundMe account to help raise more funds for the Atlanta Humane Society. And so far, they’ve raised $30,000.
