It was like a nightmare come true for one family who reportedly broke down after hearing how their loving son had just passed away after suffering from a heart attack at school.
According to local media reports, the victim was identified as 12-year-old Ryan Heffernan who died on Monday during his lunchtime.
The horrifying incident took place at the Shoeburyness High School leaving his loved ones, teachers, and classmates in absolute shock and at a loss for words.
Clearly, many people tend to think about their health when they’re too old as they believe they’re more at risk of suffering health issues or complications. But this incident has raised plenty of alarming concern amongst authorities as this was a young schoolboy.
Sources believe the victim died while he was playing with his friends on the playground during their lunch break.
At the moment, it’s still not clear as to what really went down that day to result in his death.
The parents claim their child was a perfectly healthy individual who didn’t have any illnesses that may have resulted in the horrifying ordeal.
The police say they’ve ruled out reports about a third-party involvement. But it’s not that simple as the grieving family wants answers as to what happened that day.
“We are announcing his death with unexplained causes as we move ahead with a thorough investigation that could better explain the tragic circumstances that may have contributed to his death”- one officer revealed.
But the most startling or shall we say sad part about this story is how the young child told those near him that he loved his family very much.
“His final words were I love you”- mentioned witnesses that continue to remain baffled at what went on and ultimately resulted in the schoolboy’s death.
