A man in Japan is being hailed for his loving act after it was revealed that he still goes diving each year to search for his beloved wife.
It was 11 years back when a mighty tsunami struck Japan’s islands and washed away hundreds. This was a natural disaster that no one was prepared for, leaving loved ones separated from their family members forever.
Today, thousands of people continue to remain injured and are missing after the horrifying ordeal. And despite the fact that so much time has passed by, a 65-year-old man named Yasuo Takamatsu was seen searching for his loving wife.
His wife named Yuk has been missed for so long since her body was never found, like hundreds of others that grieve the loss of their precious loved ones.
The area where she went missing was stated to be the hardest struck area located in the region of Japan’s Ogawa.
Speaking to the Associated Press about the ordeal, he says it’s been more than 11 years since the disaster struck but he’s determined to search for her each year. Hence, he carries out a specific dive in her name, hoping to meet her.
The incident took place in 2013 and that’s when he decided to venture out and get a diving license to continue with his mission.
“I always feel like I’m diving in a manner that I’ll meet her at some location”- he revealed.
“I vow to continue searching for her as long as my body moves”- he explained, leaving his story to be one of the most hailed and emotional acts of love imaginable.
The loss he experienced is something that he can never get over and now, he’s just determined to meet her someday in the afterlife.
The last text message that she sent to him was, ‘Are you okay? I want to go home!’ and this is something he feels will be in his keepsakes forever.
