A Ukrainian goat managed to immobilize a group of Russian soldiers after setting off their own boobytraps.
According to Ukraine’s Chief Intelligence Directorat, Russian soldiers in the occupied village of Kinski Rozdory in Zaporizhzhia boobytrapped themselves inside a local hospital and established a “circular defense” around the perimeter.
After installing pinned grenades and tripwires all around the building, however, the Russian troops were caught by surprise when a goat triggered the tripwire while walking toward the hospital.
As the reports claim, several grenades were set off after the goat, which escaped from a nearby farm, walked into the booby-trapped area.
In the process, a chain reaction of explosions caused multiple Russian soldiers to suffer injuries.
As of this writing, it is not clear if any of the soldiers died or what the extent of their injuries is. Their cover, however, was successfully blown.
The fate of the goat remains unknown as well.
The incident comes shortly after Ukraine’s strongman Volodymyr Zelensky urged the West to send more weapons to help the embattled nation fend off the invaders.
“We must free our land and achieve victory, but more quickly, a lot more quickly,” the president said as the battle for Ukraine’s independence continues.
He went on to accuse Putin of trying to wipe out the entire Donbas region with Moscow’s relentless artillery attacks and airstrikes.
“The Russian army is… just destroying everything,” Lugansk Governor Sergiy Gaiday said of the battle for the contested city of Lysychansk.
“It’s just hell out there. Our boys are holding their positions and will continue to hold on as long as necessary.”
