Without a doubt, the pain of childbirth is considered to be of extreme nature.
But one mother has proved all the odds against her wrong by deciding to go through with her delivery at her own residence and that too, on a sofa.
The mother says that she was left with no choice as her local hospital was full and there were no more beds available. Hence, she says that desperate times call for desperate measures and in her case, this was definitely it.
As far as combatting the pain is concerned, well, for her, a dose of two Panadol was enough to do the trick.
Eilish McKinney says she tried her best to go to Peterborough City Hospital and have her delivery like every normal would. But sometimes, extreme situations end up getting the best of you, and that’s what happened here.
It was Eilish and her fiance at home alone because the maternity ward had no space but they were determined to have their baby out on time.
The mother’s water broke on September 20 and that’s when she made the decision to enter into an NHS facility for the delivery.
After making a phone call for an appointment, they found out that there was literally no space inside. And that just left them in a very annoying situation altogether.
The couple was then told to wait as they would receive a phone call if there was any space.
Hence, after a shocking period of 40 minutes, they were left with the choice to travel to another hospital that was around one hour away. And without the mother trying to push, she knew that her baby was too low and it was evident she needed to deliver.
Impromptu home delivery was the end result and now, the couple looks back at the event as nothing less than a miracle.
