Before the police arrived at the scene, Singletary fled the scene. He has yet to be found and arrested after being charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder on top of two counts of assault and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The police have since described the suspect as a 6’2” black man with brown eyes and short black hair. Since he was also described as “armed and dangerous,” locals were warned to stay indoors and remain vigilant.

Recalling the shocking incident, Kinsley’s mother told WSOC that she overheard the neighbor telling her husband, William, and the children that he would kill them before he pulled out his gun and started shooting.

Kinsley’s grandmother, Carolyn Hilderbrand, added: “I believe he would have got me and my husband too. He just run out of bullets.”

“Why did you shoot my daddy and me? Why did you shoot a kid’s dad?” she said. “We don’t even know the man.”
