A 4-month-old baby has been left orphaned after her mother and father took her to a party where they tragically died.
Aria Marquez was found next to the bodies of her dead parents Karina Rodriguez, 28, and Sam Marquez, 24, inside a Commerce City apartment in Colorado.
Police said that two other women and a man were found dead after taking what police believe to be cocaine laced with fentanyl.
Karina leaves behind not only Aria but also an older son Josiah.
Sam’s sister, Cora, was the only one who survived but her family said that she doesn’t remember what happened.
Investigators believe they passed away after taking fentanyl-laced cocaine at the party as they found lines of the drug.
Speaking to Fox 31, District Attorney Brian Mason said: “It appears they ingested fentanyl. Fentanyl is not typically something that a user would ingest in a line. So, I think they probably thought they were taking cocaine.”
Mason continued: “Just a simple exposure to fentanyl can be lethal. Particularly when it’s pure fentanyl, once it gets into your system, it is too late.
“You can’t call 911, you can’t call for help. It immediately kills you.
“No drug is safe right now.”
Authorities are still waiting for toxicology results to determine the cause of death.
Sam’s grieving father, Dan, said the group thought they were only taking cocaine.
“Fentanyl’s no good, man,” he said to ABC 7 Denver. “It’s the devil. It must have just took them, just like that. All five of them. It’s going around here. Don’t do any of that s***.”
Dan said that his son was always “talking about his new daughter.”
“He loved his daughter,” he expressed. “He said: ‘That’s the new love of my life.’”
