A young girl killed in the Nashville mass school shooting has been identified and pictured.
On Monday morning, at around 10.13 am, 28-year-old Audrey Hale stormed a private Christian school in Nashville and shot dead three students and three staff members.
Hale was fatally shot in the encounter with the police at The Covenant School.
It has come to light that the shooter was a transgender female and an alum of the Christian school.
Meanwhile, one of the victims has been pictured and identified as 9-year-old Hallie Scruggs, the daughter of pastor Chad Scruggs who works at the school’s affiliated presbyterian church.
Heart-wrenching pictures of the young girl posing for family photos with her parents and her three older brothers have since emerged.
The police also identified the other two deceased students including 9-year-old William Kinney and Evelyn Dieckhaus.
The three members of the staff who were shot dead in the altercation include substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, school head Katherine Koonce, and custodian Mike Hill.
Hill has been pictured in a tribute led by Harstville First United Methodist Church pastor Tim Dunavant who hired the devoted man to work at The Covenant School in Nashville more than a decade ago.
“He was the last employee that I hired when I ran the kitchen at the Covenant church and school. That was over 13 years ago. He was still working there today when he was shot and killed,” Dunavant said in his Facebook post.
“I don’t know the details yet. But I have a feeling, when it all comes out, Mike’s sacrifice saved lives. I have nothing factual to base that upon. I just know what kind of guy he was. And I know he’s the kind of guy that would do that.
“Goodbye Mike, I’m going to miss those encouraging texts out of the blue from you.”
Our thoughts remain with the victims of the shooting and their families as the investigation continues.
