A young girl was killed in a horror accident while crossing a road at a pedestrian crossing.
The shocking incident took place in Halifax, England, where 9-year-old schoolgirl Alice Williams attempted to cross King Cross Street at 11 am on July 8.
According to the reports, the child was struck by a black Vauxhall Corsa operated by a 53-year-old man who faces multiple charges including dangerous driving resulting in death.
While little Alice was immediately rushed to the hospital after being hit by the car, she succumbed to her injuries the same day.
The girl’s family has since branded their little angel as a “bright, loving, and beautiful” child who is gone from their lives too soon.
“We desperately miss her and will never be able to comprehend her shocking death,” her devastated parents said.
Paying a tribute to the St Mary’s Catholic Primary student was also her teacher, Jenna Walker, who remembered Alice as a “gentle” and “kindhearted” child.
“Alice was a genuinely lovely little girl. She was someone who was gentle, kindhearted, and full of smiles,” she expressed.
“Her loss has left a huge hole in our school and our community, and we will continue to remember and honor her life. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.”
As of this writing, the circumstances leading to the fatal incident remain unclear and the police have appealed to anyone with information to speak up.
Our thoughts remain with Alice’s family, teachers, and friends during this challenging time.
