Terrifying reports have confirmed the death of a missing 12-year-old girl from Kentucky recently.

According to local media reports, authorities are currently investigating the tragic case as the young girl’s body was found just a few miles away from where her own father was shot.

The fact that her father lay unresponsive just two miles after suffering from gunshot wounds had so many thinking that the duo was the target of this incident.

But new reports spoke of how the father’s injuries appeared to be self-inflicted.

The father is currently battling for his life at the hospital but he is yet to be charged with a crime related to the death of his young child named Stacy Collins, authorities added.

A recent statement by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department mentioned how the father-daughter duo was seen on a road in Van Lear on Thursday. But the father was first discovered by relevant authorities.

Shortly after that, around a couple of hours later, Stacy was reported missing by loved ones.

On that note, a number of search crews began to assemble to help track her down.

Authorities tried to focus their search in the same area where Mr. Collins had been found. And they were right to do so because it didn’t take too long for them to locate her dead body. She had been shot to death.

As of now, her cause of death continues to be a mystery while the dad receives his medical treatment.

Stacy’s mom is devastated by the incident. She released a heartbreaking statement as the family mourns her tragic loss.

“We lost a very precious person. She was a literal gem and was taken away from us too soon!”- the mother concluded.
