8-year-old Bella, the daughter of Kerry Ratcliffe, was running around her family’s property in Salford, England, before finding a spot where she wanted to build a den.

In the area, the girl came across waste – including a wooden garden table – that was dumped on the ground by fly-tippers.

After climbing on the abandoned garden table, the boards collapsed under pressure leaving Bella plummeting to the ground.

In an attempt to catch herself during her fall, the girl reached for the nearby spiked fans only to severely injure her fingers and hands in the process.

“It’s heartbreaking. We heard screaming and a neighbor ran over and then my son pushed me back inside and said ‘she has got no fingers,’ then I collapsed,” Ratcliffe recalled.

“She was in Wythenshawe Hospital. She was in surgery for 12 hours to reattach. It did not go to plan.”

Despite losing six fingers during the ordeal, Bella is now doing better and is “adapting really well” to her new life.

Meanwhile, Bella’s family moved to a new home to get a fresh start.

Ratcliffe also called on the authorities to act to stop fly-tippers from dumping waste in the residential area with a number of homes housing young children.

“There’s a private entrance with iron gates. They told us that they had cut off the locks. Then it became a hotspot for fly-tipping,” the upset mom added.

“The gates are always open. The neighbors said they have complained about them for years.”
