According to local media outlets in Spain, the 8-year-old child passed away after strong winds picked up an inflatable bouncy castle that was located at a fairground. And this reportedly left eight other children injured.
The young child passed away while she was playing on the inflatable near the city of Valencia. And that’s because it was picked up into the air before she landed on her head, as it struck the ground.
The child passed away just 12 hours later, and that’s when she was immediately rushed to the nearby La Fe Hospital that’s located in Valencia.
Reports have also gone on to reveal how another young child who was just four years old had gotten severely injured and she currently remains in the hospital and is under care. Thankfully, doctors have reported her injuries as non-serious and she is said to be out of danger.
At the moment, an investigation by the police is currently underway to determine whether or not the accident had been linked to any sort of negligence.
On the other hand, the mayor of the region has gone on to reveal a public statement that spoke about how the decision is now up to the police to really determine what has taken place and for that reason, authorities aren’t commenting till the facts of the incident are clearly determined as to what went wrong and why.
Recently, a spokesperson for the firefighters that attended to the scene with the police and paramedics, confirmed the news of the young child’s death.
He said that a number of children have been helped by paramedics right after the incident and that it involved a bouncy castle located in Mislata.
