The young girl who was killed in a horror boating accident on Lake Pleasant in Arizona has been pictured.
6-year-old Sunni Wasden died in a “tragic incident” on Friday after her leg was cut off by a propeller of the boat that her mother had been driving on Lake Pleasant.
According to the reports, the girl’s mom, Camille, was not impaired at the time of the incident. It is also believed that she and her partner were both experienced boaters.
While details of the fatal accident remain unclear, it is said that Camille was driving their boat near Paul’s Hideaway when she accidentally struck her daughter, causing her leg to be severed by the propeller.
At the time, the mother was on the boat along with at least eleven other people including six children and another family.
Unfortunately, Sunni suffered fatal injuries in the incident and could not be saved despite being rushed to the nearby hospital soon after the tragedy.
“The father and the mother quickly realized their daughter was in the water and had suffered a leg amputation from the boat’s propeller,” Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department said.
“Witnesses at the scene confirmed that the child’s mother was operating the boat when she began to drive and, unbeknownst to the family, the child had somehow entered the water.
“There is no impairment investigation at this time. We have investigators that went and check for signs; though it is an ongoing investigation we don’t see any signs of impairment as of right now.”
The authorities added: “We are going to call this a tragic accident.point 181 | Contributing factors that may have led to this incident is a lot of people on the boat.point 252 |

Sunni was previously described by her father Blake, who often shared pictures and videos from the family’s adventures, as an “amazing” and “sweet” child.
Our thoughts remain with Sunni’s loved ones during this challenging time.
