A young girl who inspired millions of people by documenting her battle with the real-life Benjamin Button disease has passed away.
Known also as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, the Benjamin Button disease is an extremely rare condition that is caused by a mutation that makes young children to age rapidly.
One of the victims of this unforgiving illness was Texas-based Adalia Rose who managed to inspire millions of people with her bravery before passing away at the age of 15.
Rose was diagnosed with progeria when she was just three months old. Though people with this condition usually don’t live for more than 13 years, Rose went on to celebrate her 15th birthday before she was taken from this world.
While growing up, the young girl became a popular YouTube star and social media influencer who racked up more than three million followers by sharing moments from her life with the world.
Sadly, Rose left this world on the evening of January 12, 2022. In a statement shared on her social media account, her family wrote:
“January 12, 2022 at 7pm Adalia Rose Williams was set free from this world. She came into it quietly and left quietly, but her life was far from it.
“She touched MILLIONS of people and left the biggest imprint in everyone that knew her. She is no longer in pain and is now dancing away to all the music she loves.”
In their tribute, her parents added: “I really wish this wasn’t our reality but unfortunately it is. We want to say thank you to everyone that loved and supported her.
“Thank you to all her doctors and nurses that worked for YEARS to keep her healthy. The family would now like to mourn this huge loss in private.”
Our thoughts are with Rose’s family and friends during these challenging times.
