Terrifying reports are coming in from Geneva about a huge fire breaking out all of a sudden at the airport.

According to local media outlets, a giant building situated near the airport’s runway is said to have exploded and that is how the fire initially began.

Giant plumes of black-colored smoke were seen entering the sky, signaling major damage as paramedics, fire services, and other rescue services rushed to the scene of the incident to try and control it.

At the moment, reports have confirmed how the flights at the airport have been suspended until further notice as the fire erupted very close to the runway where planes were scheduled to take off and land.

An official spokesperson has gone as far as mentioning how they are clueless as to how much time it could take to control the massive blaze as more investigations into the horrifying tragedy are on the rise.

“We just saw lots of black smoke enter into the sky and then it began to spread really quickly and enter beyond the perimeter fence where so many airlines were standing”- mentioned one individual who happened to be at the scene.

He described it as a horrifying scene and very unlike anything he had ever seen.

Meanwhile, images from the country’s local media outlets have signaled a massive blast at the second most busy airport in Switzerland as smoke continued to erupt into the sky.

One airport spokesperson has managed to give out a few more details as to what he believes could have been the cause of the shocking matter.

“There is a huge building, it is the new reception center that belongs to the asylum seekers. It happened to be under construction and now it’s on fire. It was located near the airport’s perimeter”- he continued.
