Fashion marketing executive George Kolasa has tragically died at the age of 57 after suffering from an aggressive brain tumor, his heartbroken friends and family announced.
The 57-year-old worked on campaigns for designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Ralph Lauren.
According to reports, he had a rare brain cancer called glioblastoma multiforme.
In a heartbreaking post, a tribute read: “It is with a broken heart that we share the news of George’s passing.”
The statement continued: “He left as he lived — in peace, love, light, gratitude and with Justin by his side.”
Tributes poured in from stars and big names, including Sophia Bush and Tracee Ellis Ross.
“Sending so much love. May you rest in peace,’ wrote Ross. ‘Deepest condolences and love,” Bush said.
It was in February 2022 when Kolasa was diagnosed with glioblastoma. He documented his journey on his social media in the months leading up to his death.
The statement announcing his passing went on and said that the executive, who worked with Tommy Hilfiger and Burberry, had a goal to beat rare types of cancer.
“GEORGE WILLIAM KOLASA – YOU HAVE LIFTED US ALL HIGHER,” the post read. “George wanted nothing more than to continue his mission to beat rare cancers.”
In another social media post, Kolasa’s grieving husband Justin Tarquinio said he was ‘lucky’ to have been chosen by fashion marketing executive.
“My dearest George….how lucky am I that you chose me.”
Bravo’s Andy Cohen commented: “Your love for each other is inspiring. Will always treasure the long days we spent on the beach, without a care in the world.”
Evan Ross Katz also wrote: “And how lucky we all were to witness your love, your boundless love.”
