A criminal that had reportedly been convicted last month on murder charges has now been freed from jail without bail.
According to local media reports, Eugene Clark was guilty of allegedly assaulting another male named Ramon Luna. He eventually lost his consciousness and then succumbed to his injuries as revealed by the cops.
But now, reports claim that Clark has been set free from his jail without any bail after a judge in Manhattan allowed him to do so on Thursday as reported by The Post.
Clark was on parole when the court initially charged him for the crime that took place in September of 2020.
The 67-year-old victim was knocked into a state of coma, moments before his death due to the aggressive amount of injuries that he had sustained last year.
Clark had brutally punched the victim in his face. And that forced him to fall down to the ground and lose consciousness. And then in August of last year, police claim that he passed away.
But despite all of these harrowing claims with evidence being provided by the prosecutor’s side, it’s still unclear as to why the judge would set Clark free.
As the victim lay on the ground, Clark with the help of another man rifled through his pockets and even went about snatching a few of his belongings as well.
Meanwhile, a third suspect of the case even went about pouring an unknown chemical substance over the victim’s face. She has reportedly been charged for doing just that and then rifling through his pants in the hopes of finding something.
Despite Luna being taken to a nearby hospital after the horrifyingly violent attack, doctors just couldn’t save him as there was irreversible damage done to his brain which ultimately took his life in the end.
On February 2nd, Clark was indicted for the murder crime, while being charged for assault, and two counts of robbery as well. However, Judge April Newbauer has since then released him on his own recognizance.
