A body belonging to Frank Vallelonga Jr was found on the streets of New York City.
The 60-year-old actor, who appeared in Green Book, was reportedly tossed out of a vehicle in the Bronx following a suspected drug overdose.
According to the reports, the man’s body was discovered outside a manufacturing company at 4 am on Monday, whereas the police have since arrested a 35-year-old man in connection to the case.
The suspect, identified as Steven Smith, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and concealment of a human corpse among other indictments.
While Smith faces a total of eight charges, the police do – as of this writing – not believe that he played a direct role in the actor’s death.
Vallelonga Jr., the son of Frank ‘Tony Lip’ Vallelonga Sr., is believed to have died from a drug overdose with no obvious signs of trauma.
“Upon arrival, police observed an unidentified adult male, unconscious and unresponsive, on the ground at the location,” the police statement confirmed.
“The male had no obvious signs of trauma observed. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the male deceased at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.”
The police also confirmed the body was found outside the factory at 1243 Oak Point Avenue following a 911 report of an “unconscious” man lying in the street.
Thanks to surveillance footage, the police were able to identify and track Smith who was seen dumping Vallelonga Jr.’s body out of his car onto the street.
Before his death, Vallelonga Jr. was said to be working with his younger brother, Nick, to produce a movie called That’s Amore.
