The mother of the toddler from New Jersey who tragically died after being left inside her own car in scorching temperatures was seen sobbing in the arms of a police officer recently.
According to local media outlets, the two-year-old girl was strapped to her car seat for seven whole hours after her mom forget her inside. By the time she realized her awful mistake, the toddler was dead.
Emergency workers were seen rushing to the crime scene which comprised of a residence located in Franklin Township in New Jersey.
Neighbors are believed to have spotted the young child sitting alone inside the Honda Civic in an unconscious state at about 2 pm in the afternoon. At that time, the temperatures were declared to be extreme, reaching an all-time high of 80 degrees centigrade.
The neighbor was seen pulling the child out of the heated car to perform CPR but it was in vain. She provided in response and fears grew regarding if she was still alive.
“She couldn’t be revived. My baby couldn’t survive”- the heartbroken mother was seen crying and falling into the arms of a police officer who tried to console the grieving mother.
She continuously told everyone that it was a mistake. She also stated that she would never kill her own child. But this was the tragedy that she would now be forced to live with for the rest of her life.
After the cops arrived at the residence, they knocked on the door to tell the parents the reality of the grim situation.
As of now, there is an investigation taking place and many try to figure out how exactly a child could be left alone inside a vehicle for as long as eight hours and that too in such extreme conditions.
