American rapper Flo Rida is asking for ‘prayers’ after his 6-year-old son fell from a fifth-floor apartment window.
His son, Zohar Paxton Dillard, whom he shares with Alexis Adams, was rushed to a hospital on March 4 after he was found on the pavement.
Zohar, who was born with a rare neurological disorder, is in the intensive care unit after suffering serious injuries that left him with multiple pelvis fractures, metatarsal fractures, collapsed lungs, grade three liver laceration, and internal bleeding.
Taking to Instagram, Flo Rida said in a statement: “Great day, thank you to everyone who reached out with their concerns and prayers for my son.
“He is getting the best medical care and miraculously survived a tragic fall. I ask for your continued prayers as he undergoes rehabilitation but I appreciate that this remains a private matter.”
According to reports, Adams filed a lawsuit against the apartment’s management company for negligence.
In the filing, the mother claimed that the windows in the apartment building were in ‘a hazardous condition’ that led to her 6-year-old falling onto the concrete below.
Adams has named the owners and managers of the building, the window installation company, the construction company, and other defendants.
Her attorney, Steven P Haddad, reportedly requested a new trial jury claiming that the managers need to be held accountable for preserving the complex building “in a negligent, careless and reckless manner creating foreseeable and dangerous conditions.”
He also alleged that ‘incorrect sized guards’ were installed on the windows ‘even though these windows were on a fifth floor story apartment, thereby breathing their duty of care.’
