A heartbreaking housefire incident has taken the lives of an elderly couple in Houston recently.
Sources from local media outlets claim the duo was reportedly trapped inside their residence when the mega and uncontrollable blaze broke out.
They were identified as 84-year-old Kenneth and Phyllis Zerr who hailed from Minnesota. The loving couple died at about 1 am on Thursday after the suspected electrical fire had broken out at their own residence.
Meanwhile, the new Melle Fire Protection District says that the fire began on the bottom floor of the home. And slowly but surely, it crept up all the way to the upper portion of the home.
While firefighters were called to the scene by the neighbors located next door, it was just too late. The elderly couple both succumbed to their wounds.
Soon, the home’s entire top floor started to collapse. Kenneth made efforts to try and help his wife whom he had spent his life together. There was just no way that he would be letting her die alone. Unfortunately, he stayed by her side until the last minute but soon died afterward from the degree of burns.
It’s believed that Kenneth made efforts to assist his wife upward when she fell on the bathroom floor.
But one of the dispatcher’s present had told him to rush and come out because he was wasting precious seconds.
But he kept on saying how much he loved his woman and there would be no way he’d be coming back without her. And in the end, they died in the same house. What are your thoughts on a man who proved his love to his wife until the last second? Do you think couples like this still exist in today’s day and age?
