A 28-year-old mother has been charged with manslaughter after her 2-year-old child shot his father while playing video games.
Marie Ayala was immediately taken into police custody, following the incident that left the police force baffled beyond words can explain.
The authorities revealed that the couple were known convicts and were not supposed to be having a gun in the first place. But the fact that they had three young children in the household and yet chose to remain so relaxed in terms of weapons is something that’s beyond outrageous and careless on their part.
Cops revealed how the father was found dead and lying in a pool of blood after a bullet had been fired by his 2-year-old son. He was able to get easy access to the weapon that happened to be lying around.
Ayala explained to the authorities how she heard a loud pop and that’s when she went out to investigate what that sound was. And that’s when she was numb in shock to see her 26-year-old husband named Reggie Mabry lying in a giant pool of blood.
Meanwhile, the couple’s 5-year-old son informed authorities how his younger brother was to blame as he used the gun to shoot his dad, while at the start, the police had gone about suspecting a case of suicide.
Both members of the couple were reported to be on probation for the use of narcotics as well as children’s abuse. There were also some charges related to felonies that had been conducted. Therefore, their possession of the gun was later deemed to be illegal, the cops added.
If the mother named Ayla is convicted of the crime, she could face up to 15 years in jail. For now, she’s being held without any form of bail at the Orange County Jail.
