The final posts of former Top Gear star Ken Block before he tragically died due to serious injuries he suffered after a snowmobile accident have been revealed.
On Monday, the sheriff’s office in Utah0s Wasatch County confirmed that Block died at the scene after his snowmobile turned over and landed on top of him.
In a heartbreaking statement, Hoonigan Racing said: “It’s with our deepest regrets that we can confirm that Ken Block passed away in a snowmobile accident today.”
The statement added: “Ken was a visionary, a pioneer, and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband. He will be incredibly missed. Please respect the family’s privacy at this time while they grieve.”
Before he passed away, the rally driver took to Instagram and shared photos of snowmobiles covered in ‘sketchy snow.’
“Sketchy and snowy drive with some great snowboard entertainment,” he wrote.
In another photo shared on Instagram stories, a vehicle can be seen entirely covered in snow. “There’s a canamoffroad X3 under there somewhere,” he said.
Another picture shows a row of parked snowmobiles. He said: “Hell yeah!”
Only a week before the accident happened, he shared photos of him trying a new snowmobile.
“It was my first day on my new ‘23 Ski-Doo Summit X Turbo, and this thing rips! Lots of power up at high elevations, and wheelies all day!” he said.
“Epic early season powder, and an amazing first day. Wheelies, deep pow turns, and a lot of learning on this new sled – good times!”
After his death was announced, fans have taken to social media to express their shock and condolences.
“RIP Ken Block. Was watching his last story on Instagram,” one fan wrote.
“Such an ominous Instagram story from Ken Block. Man, he’s really hone,” another wrote.
