Father Shot His Three Young Daughters Aged 9, 10, And 13 At Church And Threatened Their Mother Who Had Restraining Order Against Him


A father fatally shot his three young children aged 9, 10, and 13, and another victim before he took his own life during a supervised visit at a church.

39-year-old David Fidel Mora-Rojas was not supposed to have a gun as the mother of his three children had a restraining order against him.

Police are now trying to determine how the father got the weapon and what his motive us.

During the shooting, Mora was out on bail after he got arrested on several charges.

Court documents reveal the physical and verbal abuse inflicted by the father-of-three on his estranged girlfriend.

In her request for the restraining order, the woman wrote that Mora “is a very jealous person. He threatened to kill me if he ever caught me cheating.”

The woman also said that Mora told her he had not killed her “because he would not know where to go with the children.”

“I am scared and nervous. I am afraid he is going to hurt me. I do not want to return home,” she wrote.

The shooting incident started around 5:10 pm on Monday when police were called to The Church in Sacramento, ABC10 reported.

An employee at the church in the Arden Mall area heard gunshots and contacted 911 right away.

The three children went to Bannon Creek Elementary School and Leroy Greene Academy in the Natomas Unified School District.

“There are very few words that can give comfort right now for this unspeakable tragedy,” the district said in a statement.

“There will be a range of emotions from our students and staff, particularly at the schools where the students attended.”

Last April 17, Mora was taken into custody for a mental health evaluation. Nine days later, a temporary restraining order was granted.

On February 22, he was booked into the Merced County Jail on multiple charges, including battery against a peace officer, DUI alcohol, battery on a peace officer with injury, obstructing and resisting public officer, and driving under the influence with blood alcohol over 0.08. He was out on bail only two days later.
