The father whose young son died from a snake bite last year has now been charged with manslaughter over his child’s death.
11-year-old Tristian Frahm from Queensland, Australia, was playing at a Murgon, South Burnett, property when he was bitten by a venomous snake last year.
After the incident, the boy allegedly told his father, Kerrod Frahm, about the bite only for the man to fail to take his condition seriously.
Hours later, the boy collapsed and died suddenly.
Now, 31-year-old Frahm has been charged with manslaughter with prosecutors arguing that the father failed to seek medical help that could save the boy’s life after he had suffered a bite.
According to the police, Frahm dismissed his son’s repeated pleas for help while the boy struggled with the symptoms stemming from the snake bite.
Instead of seeking medical help for his ill son, the father allegedly went to sleep. During the night, the boy woke up and walked out of his bedroom. He was found dead outside the house the following morning.
“I’m so beyond lost for words and the heart break is unimaginable. I’m still in disbelief,” a close relative of the late boy said in an interview shortly after the incident.
“I love you more than I ever thought possible, I’m missing you more and more every minute, there’ll be a you-sized hole in my heart forever.”
Frahm is set to appear in court this December.
