A doting father died in a freak car washing accident at the age of just 27.
Jake Bashford of Rockhampton, Queensland, was described as an “extremely caring” parent who was nice to everyone and always stopped to have a chat with people.
The young man died tragically on Sunday afternoon while washing a car after the vehicle moved suddenly and plowed into him before smashing into a fence.
Despite being rushed to Mount Morgan Hospital, Jake didn’t make it and was pronounced dead soon after.
His devastated friends and relatives have since spoken out and paid tribute to the beloved member of the small community.
“Jake was one of the most happiest people in town was extremely caring for anyone, always was happy to stop and have a chat he will be very missed by a lot of people,” one friend said in an interview with Daily Mail Australia.
“Rip buddy. Your happy face will be missed. My deepest condolences go out to your family,” another person shared on Facebook.
“Sending so much love to his family at this very sad time. His big smile, & wave & a chat will be very missed,” one mourner added.
A fourth said: “Such a good and decent man gone from his beautiful and loving family too soon. My condolences to Mum and bubs. Such a heartbreaking time and this sadness is deep.”
According to the reports, Jake was known as a doting dad who often shared pictures of his children on social media. In one photo, the young man could be seen smiling while posing with his child while in another he was seen playing with his kid in the water.
The unfortunate incident currently remains under investigation. Our thoughts are with Jake’s loved ones during this challenging time.
