The heartbroken family of a missing mother-of-two who disappeared while walking her dog out has spoken out about the police’s theory that the 45-year-old could have fallen into a driver.
Nicola Bulley had just dropped her children off at school when she and her dog named Willow took a walk near the River Wyre in St. Michael’s, Lancashire, on January 27.
Her disappearance rocked the country as details surrounding the case remain unclear.
Lancashire police that one of their hypothesis is that the mother-of-two had fallen into the river and drowned, adding that this was “not suspicious but a tragic case of a missing person.”
Specialist diving teams continue to trace Bulley by going back to the river bank as extensive search parties involving helicopters, dogs, and drones comb the area where she vanished.
On February 3, Nicola’s sister Louise Cunningham took to social media to address the theory that her sister had fallen into the waters and drowned.
“Off the back of the latest Police media update, please can I add there is no evidence whatsoever that she has gone into the river, it’s just a theory,” Louise wrote on Facebook.
“Everyone needs to keep an open mind as not all CCTV and leads have been investigated fully, the police confirmed the case is far from over.”
Nicola’s friend, Emma White, also said: “When we are talking about a life we can’t base it on a hypothesis – surely we need this factual evidence. That’s what the family and all of us are holding on to – that we are sadly no further on than last Friday. We still have no evidence, and that’s why we’re out together in force.
“You don’t base life on a hypothesis.”
