The grieving family of a man who was stabbed to death by his OnlyFans model girlfriend said they do not believe that she was acting in self-defense and are now demanding that she be charged with murder.
27-year-old Christian Obumseli was stabbed by his girlfriend Courtney Clenney, 25, in their luxury apartment in Florida on Sunday, April 3rd.
The model, who is also known as Courtney Tailor, told police that she was acting in self-defense and claimed that she thought her boyfriend was about to hurt her.
Clenney was taken into custody under the state’s Baker Act, which protects people with mental health problems or at risk of suicide.
But she is now free again and was seen trying to have some drinks in a bar with her dad before a stranger confronted her.
Obumseli’s family from Texas is now demanding answers as they do not believe that Clenney was acting in self-defense.
His cousin Karen Egbuna said at a press conference that the family are not buying the model’s story.
“We have no cause to believe that this was a case of self defense,” she said.
“He is one of the youngest in the family, he is loved, he is kind, he is caring, he is soft spoken… the idea that this was somehow warranted, is unthinkable.”
Egbuna also said that Obumseli came from a “good, strong” family and was never prone to violence.
The Miami Police Department did not comment on why Clenney hasn’t been charged but a spokesperson said that the investigation is ongoing.
Obumseli’s family said on the GoFundMe page they set up that he was a victim of a ‘heinous act of violence.’
“Christian Toby Obumseli was murdered in Florida a week before his 28th birthday. It is unconscionable to make sense of our new reality,” they wrote.
“That someone’s selfish act ripped Christian away from this world. It is not enough to say we are shocked and hurting–We are utterly devastated.
“His murder leaves many unanswered questions and creates a void that can never be fixed or filled. Not even with time.
“Christian was extremely compassionate with a desire always to uplift those around him. He did not deserve for his life to be cut short by a heinous act of violence.”
