Four members of the same family were found dead at their home in New Jersey.
The shocking discovery was made in Plainsboro where Sonal Parihar, 42, and Taj Pratap Singh, 43, were found dead alone with their children including a 10-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter.
According to the reports, the pair was married and their relatives described them as a “happy couple.”
As of this writing, the cause of death remains unclear. The police have since launched a homicide investigation though the possibility of a murder-suicide wasn’t ruled out yet.
In footage shared by the local media, the family’s Middlesex County home was seen surrounded by the crime scene tape.
While many details surrounding the chilling case remain shrouded in mystery, it was since revealed that the discovery was made by a concerned relative who was performing a welfare check.
After the news had spread, several relatives were seen outside Taj and Sonal’s house. They told CBS News that they were “shocked” and “stunned” by the discovery while insisting the couple was happy.
They also revealed that both parents worked in IT and that Singh was a Lead APIX Engineer at Ness Digital Engineering. They bought their $635k home on Titus Lane back in August 2018.
“The district was informed by local law enforcement of a horrific tragedy involving one of our Plainsboro families with a Wicoff student and a Millstone River School student,” Superintendent David Aderhold said in a statement.
As of this writing, the case remains under investigation by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Plainsboro Police Department.
