JUST IN: Grieving Family Speaks Out After ‘Kind’ And ‘Smart’ 10-Year-Old Boy Dies Suddenly In A ‘Choking Incident’


A grieving family has spoken out and paid tribute to the 10-year-old boy who died suddenly and unexpectedly.

Oscar Roome was a “kind” and “curious” young boy from Oxfordshire, England, who was rushed to the local hospital after being involved in a “choking incident” while enjoying lunchtime with his classmates at Kidmore End CE Primary School.

Unfortunately, Oscar lost consciousness and died shortly after the shocking incident despite the medics’ efforts to save the child.

As the investigation into the boy’s premature death continues, Oscar’s family has spoken out and shared their grief over the inexplicable loss.

“Our beautiful boy, Oscar, was just starting to blossom. Staff at Kidmore End, especially Mr. Heritage (Year 5), and Miss Dove (Year 6), encouraged Oscar to engage and explore. He did just that,” they wrote.

“In all that he did, whatever field it was, he brought an infectious curiosity, a thirst not just for knowledge but for understanding, and a desire to learn and share.

“Yet he retained a kindness and humility in everything he did. We, his parents, and his siblings, are heartbroken.”

The grieving family went on to thank the staff and Oscar’s classmates for assisting the boy during his medical emergency while sharing praise for the paramedics and the hospital staff who desperately tried to save his life.

“Oscar will always be remembered for his kindness, cheeky smile, sense of humor, and humble intelligence. We love you, Oscar,” they added.

Paying tribute to the young child was also interim headteacher Martina Parsons who called the incident utterly devastating.

“A true gentle soul, Oscar always welcomed you with a cheery good morning and asked how you were,” she said.

The statement from the headteacher further vowed to support the boy’s family and other pupils as the “incredibly strong school community” comes together during this challenging time.
