The grieving family of a baby boy who was brutally killed by his ‘deeply religious’ parents paid tribute to the seven-month-old.
22-year-old Neomi Kondacs and her partner Reinhardt Bosch, 33, were both arrested on November 3 after their son, Rhuan, was found dead at their rental home.
The couple are accused of maltreating the baby since he was born in April.
The baby’s grieving grandmother has revealed his heartache in a short poem posted on a fundraising campaign setup to help cover Rhuan’s funeral expenses.
“Why? How could this happen? Why you? The sorrow which your absence caused will never end,” he wrote.
“Your name is Rhuan. Nobody will understand.
“Nothing will be the same as before.”
Kondacs and Bosch have been charged with one count each of murder.
It is alleged they prayed for their son’s recovery for up to 24 hours before calling for emergency services as he was already unresponsive.
Police officers immediately sealed off the property and started an investigation surrounding the baby’s death.
A family friend setup a GoFundMe page to make sure that Rhuan is ‘honored with a proper funeral.’
“Thank you all so much. You have been instrumental in removing a huge extra stress from the family of baby Rhuan,” Kelly Cousins wrote.
“We will now plan and hold a beautiful memorial service for this precious little boy. We wish you all the best and please know that we look forward to paying this generosity forward in the very near future. Love to you all xxx.”
Ms. Cousins also paid tribute to the seven-month-old, saying Rhuan was “here for such a short time but he was loved so dearly, particularly by his grandfather.
“We cannot undo what’s happened but we can do this one thing for him.”
She added: “Hug your kids tonight and if you need help, please seek it and seek it and seek it until you get it. Love to you all.”
