Terrifying reports are coming in from Istanbul where a deadly explosion has rocked a populated city center area.
According to reports from local media outlets, at least four people have been confirmed dead while dozens were declared injured as a huge s*icide bomb shook the city.
Initial reports have confirmed how an area is a well-known place that is densely populated all year round and is also deemed to be a hotspot for tourists as well. Now, 38 people have been declared wounded as paramedics rushed to the scene and began their rescue and relief efforts.
Bodies were seen flying in the air due to the impact of the attack while so many others lay strewn across the ground.
This particular street was flooded with shoppers today as it’s the weekend and this city center has so many shops that are recommended by both locals and foreigners.
At the moment, a major emergency response is currently taking place where tragic scenes from the attack made their way onto social media. The exact location was identified to be Istiklal Street which is situated near central Istanbul Taksim Square.
Meanwhile, Istanbul’s governor was seen mentioning how the death toll currently stands at four from the explosion that took place in the Beyoglu area, at about 4:20 pm. But he did speak about how the number of casualties was feared to increase as the day passes on.
On the other hand, shocking video from the incident showed flames erupting and a major bang before huge crowds started to flee from the site of the attack at the very busy square.
In the same way, terrifying CCTV footage also showed the exact point in time when the blast had gone off. There is a point in that video where a woman could be seen dropping a bag on top of a bench, right before the explosion took place.
