A 43-year-old woman and her 42-year-old husband have been jailed for six years after being found guilty of locking their autistic son inside their home’s attic.

According to local media reports, the evil couple falsely imprisoned their own autistic son inside the attic for a period of seven months.

The victim was discovered by the police and was just days away from his death during the time of his rescue.

Witnesses claim that the 22-year-old autistic man was just skin and bones when he was finally released from the prison, clearly showing his desperate condition and how severely he was abused.

“They dehydrated him and starved him of food”- the court revealed.

At the time of the rescue, Matthew was only six stone in weight and was located from Sheffield.

The judge leading the case has revealed how the behavior displayed by the parents was a clear sign of grave abuse and a great loss of trust between a mom and her own son.

After being found guilty of the act, both the mother and step-father of the victim were sent to jail for six years.

The attic was described to be in the worst possible state imaginable, as revealed by officers who went in for the rescue. They also spoke about the poor levels of hygiene and how it was infested with feces and vomit all over.

During the time of the sentencing, the judge slammed the mother for being the child’s main carer, considering all of the difficulties and challenges Matthew had to face with his autistic condition.

“For seven months, you failed to provide him with love, care, support, and the provision of food and drink that were his basic requirements”- the judge boldly explained.

The evil couple was also found guilty of letting a vulnerable adult suffer great physical harm.
