American actor Angus Cloud has passed away at the age of just 25.
The aspiring superstar, who was best known for his role as Fezco in the HBO series Euphoria, died amid his battle with mental health issues on Monday.
According to the reports, the young man’s mother called the police over a “possible overdose.” Sources also told TMZ that Angus had been struggling with the loss of his father.
After the paramedics arrived at the family’s home in Oakland, California, the actor was pronounced dead.
“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,” Cloud’s family announced in a heartbreaking statement.
One relative of the Euphoria star, who also appeared in a number of music videos, further explained that Angus had been suffering from suicidal thoughts and that he was visiting his family in hopes of “overcoming the grief” after his father’s death.
“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” they explained.
The family further raised awareness about mental health issues and said Angus was very “open about his battle with mental health.”
“We hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence,” they added.
Paying a tribute to the young, talented man was also the official Twitter account of Euphoria.
“We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud.He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family.
We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time,” their statement read.Our thoughts remain with Angus’ loved ones during this challenging time.
