During the Emmy-winning speech of star writer Quinta Brunson, comedian Jimmy Kimmel was recently slammed for lying flat on the floor.
According to local media outlets, the comedian was trolled on social media for his ‘white male privilege as he refused to get up despite the celeb accepting the award and beginning her speech. And to many viewers’ surprise, he lay there until the speech ended.
As far as the reason why, well, the hilarious celeb brushed it off by stating he had one too many skinny margaritas. But that just wasn’t good enough for many people who felt he needed to show some respect.
This particular Emmy win was called out for being a major history win for Quinta and that’s why so many felt it should have been given a lot more respect than the way the comedian was behaving.

Many people had hoped the famed host would have an ounce of respect and get up at some point in time of her speech but he refused and the celeb was forced to continue with him lying in that uberly awkward stance.
But a lot of praise was given out to Quinta who handled the entire scenario like a pro. She not only smiled her way through it but even opted to place her phone across his chest.
Twitter was abuzz with so many viewers calling out Jimmy for this behavior. They felt it was her moment to shine and he tried to take advantage of it. One even felt that looked like the starlet was giving her award-winning speech over Jimmy’s dead body.
