As you can probably imagine, it’s not easy being a single parent in today’s world, let alone entering the dating world.
The struggles are plenty and people just refuse to see you in the same light as they would be seeing a normal single individual. As most people believe, a child is like an added responsibility or baggage that enters a relationship. And on most occasions, they’re just not willing to be flexible enough to accept it.
Today’s story comes from leading actress Drew Barrymore who recently broke down while giving an interview as a single parent. The celeb revealed how the struggle to find a partner after revealing you have a child is not something that people like to hear.
In the same way, we saw the actress mention how she has two beautiful daughters named Frankie and Oliver. Moreover, she also shed light on how she’s been a single mom for a while now, seven years and counting.
The actress says that although she was excited at first about entering the dating world, she now realizes that it’s a scary exploration because you never know the type of reaction you just might end up getting from a stranger.
While some can be super welcoming and accommodating of the idea of a single parent, others just might not feel the same way.
The actress also got a little emotional when it came down to talking about co-parenting and how difficult it was for her to accept joint custody of her kids.
“I miss them when I am away from them because that is not how I planned my life”- the actress revealed, while wiping away her tears.
