The dog that savagely mauled a baby girl to death has been identified as a fully grown American Bully that experts believe adults wouldn’t be able to stand a chance against.
According to local media reports, a little toddler named Bella-Rae Birch was recently killed after the vicious family pet attacked her at her residence in St. Helens in Merseyside.
The animal was brought by her dad off of a friend of his but little did he know about the dangers that he was soon going to be inviting into his home.
The horrific attack took place during the afternoon hours on Monday.
Moreover, locals claim that the child’s mother began to cry hysterically right outside her home. She didn’t understand what had just happened as paramedics rushed to the scene and transferred the 17-month-old baby to the hospital on an emergency basis.
And that is where she died from her critical wounds.
Officer hailing from the Merseyside Police Department had reportedly destroyed the dog and are now carrying out a series of investigations to determine whether or not the family dog was an illegal breed or not.
In the same way, the police are also trying to determine who the previous owners of the dog were.
Previous reports from neighbors went on claiming how the dog was either a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or a Pitbull Terrier. But the father did confirm how those reports were not true, adding how he had bought the dog from his friend last week.
As the family grieves the loss of their beautiful and young loved one, the mother has begun a GoFundMe to assist in covering her daughter’s funeral costs.
