A mother-daughter duo was reportedly attacked in the most horrific manner by giraffes at South Africa’s leading wildlife park.
According to reports from local media outlets, the duo were visiting the park to spend some quality time together and with the animals. But they had no idea about what was in store.
The duo was reportedly staying at the Kuleni Game Farm when the tragic act unfolded.
The toddler was crushed to death by the giant giraffes while the mother was similarly attacked and is now said to be fighting for her life at the hospital, sources have revealed.
It was believed that the animals felt endangered by the visitors and thought perhaps they had come to get their calves. On that note, a terrifyingly violent attack was launched causing the death of one while leaving the others critically injured.
The mother was said to be 25 while the daughter who died was just 16 months old.
This particular wildlife park is stated to be home to several different animals, including zebras, giraffes, nyala, and more.
Moreover, there are no predators included and it has always maintained its high standard related to safety and cleanliness as tourists come to visit the park in South Africa from all around the globe.
But what went on that day is beyond horrifying and has really opened the eyes of many people.
At the moment, authorities are investigating the matter with the South African police as they try to determine what exactly went wrong and why the giraffes behaved in that manner.
Attacks of his kind are beyond rare. It’s just so tragic what went on with the mother and daughter duo, a representative from the zoo revealed.
