A mother is facing charges of manslaughter after her young son shot his father while he was busy playing video games.
According to heartbreaking reports from local media outlets, the authorities explained how the child had gotten access to a gun which he accidentally used to shoot bullets that were aimed at his dad.
Now, the child’s mother, 28-year-old Marie Ayala has been charged with manslaughter as well as negligence and also for having a firearm in her possession that ultimately got into the reach of a child.
The incident is believed to have taken place last month in Orlando, Florida when the 26-year-old man named Reggie Mabry was so busy enjoying his video gaming session that he failed to notice his son carrying a firearm and entering his vicinity.
Surprisingly, the couple had three children, and the fact that the firearm was in easy reach clearly showed the level of disregard and seriousness the parents had regarding the weapons and the danger that they possessed.
The bullet fired by the two-year-old child is believed to have entered the victim’s back. The bleeding was intense and by the name, paramedics arrived, the injury had gotten the best of him and he was soon pronounced dead.
Now, more evidence in regards to the case is being revealed like how both mom and dad were convicted felons, and therefore they had no rights of ownership in regards to possessing a weapon of that sort.
For now, authorities are not giving away too many details are investigations into the case continue. However, it is believed that they are still trying to decipher how the child was able to get a hold of the firearm in the first place.
