Comedian Dave Chapelle was saved by the skin of his teeth when an attacker with a knife stormed on stage and decided to tackle the celeb.
According to local media reports, the police have managed to arrest the 23-year-old suspect who was armed with a sharp knife and had other motives that he couldn’t fulfill thanks to the prompt efforts of fans and authorities who intervened at the right time.
The incident reportedly took place while the comedian was recently performing at the Hollywood Bowl show but little did he know about what was about to take place and how near he could have been to being attacked severely.
The suspect has been identified as Isaiah Lee who is currently under police custody at the LA Sheriff’s office. He is being kept on the felony charge relating to assault with a deadly weapon, as confirmed by the cops.
At the moment, his bail was said to be set up at $30,000 as more investigations into the harrowing incident begin.
It is yet to be determined what the attacker’s real motive behind the act was as police continue to collect more evidence about him including personal details like his address and whether or not he happened to be alone at the show.
The suspect was also found to be carrying a replica gun and although Chapelle remained unhurt in the incident, the suspect did suffer from a few minor injuries as he tried to tackle the comedian down to the ground.
Meanwhile, new reports have now gone on to suggest how the comedian tried to brush off the incident as another one of those dramatic Will Smith slapping Chris Rock incidents.
The moment the comedian was attacked was said to be related to his jokes about how the woke brigade was trying to cancel him out because he continued to poke fun at the trans community. And then all of a sudden, Lee stormed onto the stage.
