Waukesha Christmas parade killer Darrell Brooks has spoken out from Waukesha County Jail and said that his mother has not paid him a visit.
The 39-year-old said he feels ‘demonized’ and ‘dehumanized’ behind bars after he plowed his SUV through a crowd during a Christmas parade, leaving six people dead and more than 60 people injured.
Speaking to Fox News after a judge set his bond at $5 million, he said: “I just feel like I’m being… demonized.”
Brooks also said that he felt ‘dehumanized’ behind bars.
His ex-girlfriend offered little sympathy to him. She told Fox News: “It was a monstrous act and it’s completely irredeemable. I’m mortified and devastated and have lost sleep for days over this. Obviously, I wish it did not happen.”
She said that her teenage son, who hasn’t seen his father in over a year, also felt heartbroken by the incident.
Brooks’ ex-girlfriend also claimed that he had a history of mental health problems.
“He’s always been in and out of jail – he hasn’t been present,” she shared. “I raised my son without him.”
Court papers obtained by FOX showed that Brooks owes his ex-girlfriend $41,000 in child support but the former partner said that the $151 he’s supposed to pay every month “isn’t going to make or break us.”
Brooks now faces life behind bars if convicted. He is currently being held on $5million bond in a Wisconsin jail.
According to reports, he is a registered s*x offender and has already been arrested over 15 times in Wisconsin alone for charges including suffocation and strangulation, illegally possessing firearms, battery, and possession of drugs.
