‘That 70s Show’ star Danny Masterson has been sentenced to thirty years to life in prison following his conviction.
The disgraced sitcom star was accused of raping three women between 2001 and 2003. Earlier this year, he was found guilty of raping two of his three accusers in 2003.
Now, the troubled actor, who also appeared in Netflix’s The Ranch, was handed the 30 years to life sentence after his victims read out their statements in court.
Calling Masterson a “true coward and heartless monster,” Jane Doe 1 said the actor ruined her life with his despicable act. Jane Doe 2 added: “I still have to contend with what you did to me that night… That takes a life’s worth of therapy to repair. Every time I think I’m okay, that rape comes back to me.”
Jane Doe 3 further told the courtroom that the s*xual assault left her with PTSD.
Seen at the court was also Masterson’s wife, model and actress Bijou Phillips, who broke into tears as the sentence was read out. Supporting the actor were also his other family members including Christopher Masterson, Jordan Masterson, and Alanna Masterson.
“Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here. Your actions 20 years ago took away another person’s voice and choice. Your actions 20 years ago were criminal, and that is why you are here,” Judge Charlaine Olmedo said at the sentencing.
For each of his two convictions, Masterson was handed a 15 years to life sentence with Judge Olmedo ordering for the charges to run consecutively.
