BREAKING: Two Maternity Ward Nurses Shot Dead After Gunman On Parole Opens Fire At A Hospital


Two maternity nurses were killed at a Texas hospital after a gunman opened fire near the delivery rooms.

The horrific shooting took place at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas where the suspect fired several rounds near the delivery rooms on Saturday at around 11 am.

In the shooting, two maternity ward nurses were fatally wounded.

After the police arrived at the scene, the gunman was shot and wounded by an on-site cop with a single bullet. The suspect was then taken into custody where he is awaiting capital murder charges.

The shooter has since been identified as 30-year-old Nestor Hernandez who was on parole for aggravated robbery at the time of the incident.

Calling the deadly shooting “an abhorrent failure of our criminal justice system,” Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia revealed that the suspect was wearing an ankle monitor when he committed the double murder.

“We @DallasPD are grateful for the support and care provided to our officers by @mhshospitals. Our thoughts are with staff and victims of today’s events. We will do EVERYTHING to assist in this investigation. This is a tragedy, and an abhorrent failure of our criminal justice system,” he tweeted.

Speaking out after the tragic incident was also the Methodist Health System hospital which paid a tribute to the deceased nurses and sent their sympathies to the victims’ families.

“The Methodist Health System Family is heartbroken at the loss of two of our beloved team members. Our entire organization is grieving this unimaginable tragedy,” their statement read.

“During this devastating time, we want to ensure our patients and employees that Methodist Dallas Medical Center is safe, and there is no ongoing threat.
