A 27-year-old father turned himself into police after he killed a convicted s*x offender who stalked his young daughter.
Levi Axtell from Minnesota ‘finished’ the man, 77, off with a moose antler, according to court documents.
On March 8, the father went to a police station covered in blood. He dropped to his knees and told the cops that he used a shovel when he attacked Scully.
Axtell also told the officers how he ‘finished’ Scully with a moose antler.
He then placed his hands on his head as he told the police to handcuff him, adding that he would harm more people if he was not restrained.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office found Scully dead inside his Grand Marias home, which sits around two hours north of Duluth.
The 77-year-old was “obviously dead from the serious nature of his head wounds.”
Police said that a witness contacted emergency services after seeing a man ‘smash’ a vehicle in Scully’s driveway before hearing someone screaming.
The witness, who was still on the phone with officers, said that a short while later the man returned to his own car and drove away.
Cook County Sheriff Pat Eliasen said that Scully had been found guilty of s*xual assault of a 6-year-old girl in 1979 but walked out of jail in 1982.
In 2018, Axtell accused Scully of stalking his toddler.
“(Axtell) said he had observed (Scully) parked in the vehicle at locations where children were present and believed he would reoffend,” the complaint read.
The young father managed to obtain an order of protection against Scully but the request was later thrown out.
Axtell then took to Facebook and wrote: “Only cure for pedoph*les? A bullet.”
The 27-year-old was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge with a bond set at $1 million.
