A stranger was reportedly caught assaulting and robbing a young woman on the streets as she was walking back towards her residence.
According to local media reports, the suspect was identified as a male who crept up from behind the female victim, right before violently covering her mouth and touching her in a forcible manner.
The exact location of the shocking incident was identified as the corner of Murray Hill’s 40th East Street and First Avenue, at about 5:40 pm in the evening on Saturday.
The creep then reportedly stole the innocent woman’s cell phone and then made a run for it in a swift manner, leaving her dumbfounded and unable to resist the attack.
Officers from the New York Police Department claim that the suspect then made a quick run for it in a westbound direction on East 40th Street.
At the moment, investigations into the harrowing case continue as police try and look for witnesses who possibly may have been present at the scene or have some idea about the suspect that’s currently on the run.
The news has sparked mega outrage and fear in citizens of New York as a frightening wave of crimes have suddenly taken over, right before the Christmas holiday.
