A murder probe has recently been set up after an 88-year-old woman was found dead inside her own home while her husband was left seriously injured.

According to local media reports, paramedics swiftly responded to calls and reports of a couple that was allegedly involved in a brutal crime that took place at their residence in Derbyshire on Saturday during the later hours of the night.

And that’s when the paramedics found the woman died while her husband had life-threatening injuries and therefore was seriously hurt.

On that note, he was immediately rushed to a nearby local hospital where he is now reportedly being treated.

Reports confirmed how the Derbyshire police are now conducting an investigation into the matter but they are yet to have any clues as to what really went on that night and who is responsible for this heinous crime.

In the same way, the police are also calling forward for witnesses to come ahead and inform them regarding any details about the case that could potentially assist them with the investigation.

At the moment, the couple’s family has been made aware of the incident and for that reason are being assisted by specialist officers during this difficult time.

The police are doing everything they can to try and crack the code to the mystery surrounding the case and that means a heavy deployment of officers in the nearby area over the coming few days as authorities make attempts at conducting a full investigation as to what really went on.

The Divisional Commander in Chief released a public statement that spoke about how shocking it was for the entire community to learn about this incident and how everyone’s thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by this crime.
