The festive season is upon us all and that means good food and holiday decor are taking center stage in households around the globe.
Sweet treats are no exception and if there’s one baking goodie that you can’t get over during this time of the year, it’s definitely Gingerbread cookies.
Most of us have grown up listening to the term gingerbread cookies as men, but one bakery owner disagrees. He feels like it’s time we defend the norms and give rise to non-binary cookies by calling them, gingerbread people. As bizarre as it can be, it’s definitely causing a major controversy online.
People who love building and decorating gingerbread houses are paying homage to the tradition and they feel that this baker’s ideology is designed to stir up nothing but controversy. But he’s not backing down against his claims and is now providing a valid justification as to why he feels he’s right.
Paul Cook from the Cottage Bakery that’s located in Blackpool says the sweet treats have two arms, two legs, and a head. And he didn’t understand why so many individuals were making such a huge deal of the matter.
And to many people’s surprise, Cook says this is nothing new for him. He has been busy selling these goodies for a while now without having any sort of issue.
It was only recently that this post got shared online and due to that, people became aware of him. In fact, they’ve been around for nearly 20 years, he adds.
But the relabeling was done three years ago as he felt it was time for some change. And Cook mentioned how it’s so funny that the decision for the name change only came about after the comments he received from others in his bakery and it wasn’t just his call.
