Archie Battersbee’s parents and loved ones are going public about the final moments spent with the 12-year-old, adding how heartbreaking it was for them to watch him die in front of their eyes.
According to local media outlets, the 12-year-old passed away, hours after medical professionals switched off his life support machine.
At 10 am, the machine closed and Archie’s vital remained stable. But at 12 pm, he started having difficulty breathing and suddenly turned blue.
The family says the scenes were heartbreaking and they hoped no loved one would ever see such a barbaric act, which they felt was not dignified by any means.
Archie’s mother and dad also added how they were proud of their son for clinging on for so long, and how he’ll always remain in their hearts forever. But now, a new twist in the case has surfaced.
The family is demanding an inquiry into the 12-year-old’s death because they feel no parent should ever have to go through what they’ve been through.
The death ensued at the Royal London Hospital during the morning hours of Saturday, where his loved ones say he was completely blue, calling it a barbaric act to witness.
On April 17, little Archie was found lying on his bed with a ligature wire surrounding his neck. His mom rushed him to a nearby hospital as he was unconscious, leaving her confused as to what had taken place. And that’s when she realized he had blindly followed a challenge on TikTok that happened to be trending.
The mom strongly believed that the app was responsible for her son’s death, saying it was the Blackout Challenge that so many others are blindly following, not realizing the consequences it has. Hence, she’s even urged for the app’s ban in the country to avoid such incidents.
