Terrifying reports are coming in from Colorado Springs where a heartbreaking tragedy has left at least five people dead and around 18 more injured.
According to reports from local media outlets, the incident took place during the late midnight hours at an LGBTQ nightclub. The gunman began shooting in all directions, causing a scene of utter chaos and panic all around.
However, he was soon left wounded after being struck by bullets and has now been apprehended and hospitalized.
Witnesses claim they saw the gunman arrive with a long rifle in his hand and killed five people on the spot and left more than 18 others on the ground helplessly begging for medical assistance.
Meanwhile, the chief of the Colorado Police Station was seen speaking about how two people must be praised for showing great bravery inside the nightclub called Club Q. This particular destination mentioned is known to be popular among those arising from the LGBTQ community.
“The two brave men were able to prevent the suspect from moving forward and killing so many others that were causing harm to others”- the Colorado Police Chief added.
“We all really owe them a lot of thanks”- he mentioned at the end while delivering his speech at the news conference on Sunday during the early morning hours.
Meanwhile, Mayor John Suthers was seen boldly declaring how such actions end up saving so many people’s lives.
The suspected shooter has been identified as Anderson Lee and is believed to be 22 years old. He was injured in the attack as confirmed during an earlier briefing conducted by the police.
Other reports revealed how paramedics did a great job at transporting so many others to the local hospital despite the scenes of chaos at the venue and right now, the cops are busy notifying loved ones of the victims about their current status.
